Marfa Pods
A collection of 12 compact cabin units designed as independent living pods in far West Marfa. Each unit includes a private bedroom, restroom, and kitchenette, offering a self-contained space that balances comfort with simplicity. The pods are positioned to provide separation and privacy for individual guests while still accommodating larger groups across the site.
The design incorporates passive strategies and clean energy systems to improve efficiency, including natural ventilation, controlled daylighting, and durable materials suited for both harsh summers and colder winter conditions. Each pod is scaled to feel like a small home, with careful attention to proportion, light, and orientation.
A shared outdoor area with a communal firepit and cooking space anchors the project, creating opportunities for gathering and connection. Set within the open landscape, the project embraces its remote context where expansive skies and visible stars become part of the experience, reinforcing a quiet sense of connection between people, place, and environment.
