Crossing Plunge is a landscape intervention designed for a luxury suburban property north of Katy, transforming an underutilized side yard into a highly composed outdoor environment. The design introduces an extended patio and a sunken yard aligned along a central axis, organizing the space with a long linear fire feature that anchors views across multiple angles of the home. A large body of water is introduced with a controlled footprint, allowing for strong visual presence without excess volume.

The layout creates a series of distinct lounge zones connected by a clearly defined circulation path, including floating steps that allow movement across the space without direct contact with the water. Integrated water features provide continuous motion and ambient sound, enhancing the sensory experience while maintaining visual connection to the adjacent lake. The result is a layered outdoor setting that balances structure, movement, and atmosphere within a compact footprint.
